"Liquid chromatography" is a general term for a method that uses a liquid as the mobile phase to separate each component in a mixed sample. Detectors include ultraviolet-visible absorbance detectors, differential refractometers, electrical conductivity detectors, evaporative light scattering detectors, fluorescence detectors, and mass spectrometers, allowing for the analysis of various components depending on the selection of the column and detector.
